Contact lenses: effect of enlightenment

In 1966 the company Baush&Lomb has begun industrial production soft elastic contact lenses. But on a number of the objective reasons people with problem sight did not hasten to buy them, preferring though and bothered, but habitual and reliable glasses. Meantime progress did not stand on a place, manufacturers found new materials, improved design. So, lenses gradually became natural and irreplaceable attribute of daily life.
Today ophthalmologists offer short-sighted and far-sighted patients soft contact lenses from thin and flexible material, with a greater range of dioptries, from the most known firms-manufacturers. The companies, receiving the greatest quantity of positive responses, are Johnson&Johnson Vision Care, CIBA Vision, Bausch&Lomb, and Maxima.
There are such types of contact lenses:
* optical lenses- for correction of anomalies of a refraction (short-sightedness, far-sightedness etc);
* cosmetic lenses- for correction of the defects of eye of various congenital or got in result of trauma (turbidity of cornea);
* decorative (color) lenses - for strengthening natural color of eyes or for its change;
* therapeutic lenses - are used as bandage protection of cornea, and also as the tank for prolongation of action of medicinal substances at treatment of various diseases of a cornea.

Advantage of lenses of new generation relies also in protection of internal structures of eye (retina, crystalline lens and cornea) from UV-radiation. Sunglasses, besides lenses, are also recommended.
